Next week Chelsea FC Women will be facing Bristol City Women FC, after an incredible display against rivals Arsenal in the FA Cup (3-0) this Sunday, 17th February 2019.
Chelsea can be seen now as the clear favorites for this duel in the WSL (Women’s Super League) next Wednesday, 20th, and catch up with leaders Manchester City, 35 points in 15 games, and front runners Arsenal, 33 points in 13 games.
Especially, after the huge win over the Gunners today and the sad loss of Bristol City in the Cup against Durham, eliminating them instantly from the competition. Bristol City won’t come in the best conditions to play against the 3rd place, Chelsea.
On the other side, Chelsea battered Arsenal, in a match the Blues played outstandingly.
The Women’s FA Cup holders are now into the last eight of this season’s competition, thanks to striker Bethany England’s 13th and 14th goals of the season and defender Jonna Andersson’s first, an extraordinary hit.
But, there are still three days to train and change, so, if I was Chelsea, I wouldn’t think the match is already won. In football, anything can happen. And Bristol City has shown in the past that they can overcome situations against them.
