The dream of raising a fourth World Cup for the United States is crossed with the desire of the Brazilians to get their first title, amid the pressure of France to play at home.
Different sensations that now have a definite path towards the final of the 2019 World Cup.
On the outskirts of Paris, in Boulogne-Billancourt, the six groups of the Women’s World Cup of 2019 met.
The team’s groups have been revealed:
The French box, as local, is in group A along with South Korea, Norway and Nigeria. The hosts occupy the best position with respect to their rivals and leave as one of the favourites to have the fans on their side.
Germany, second classified in the ranking, will star in a European duel with Spain in Group B. China and South Africa complete the picture.
Brazil is in Group C with Australia, Italy and Jamaica, while the second Latin American team, Argentina, are in group D along with England and Japan.
The Japanese already lifted this trophy in 2011 while the British are fourth in the standings. The other rival is the first time Scotland.
The Netherlands, current queens of Europe, are in group E, next to difficult Canada. New Zealand and Cameroon, teams outside the “top ten”, complete the list.
Finally, Chile will start this competition with two heavyweights. Their first match in Group F is against Sweden, Olympic runners-up in the Rio 2016 games and then they will play against the United States, defending the title in search of their fourth crown.
The fourth selection is Thailand that participates for the second time in a World Cup.
The tournament starts on June 7 at the Parc des Princes de Paris with France against South Korea, and the final will be held in Lyon on July 7.
