Everton Women have their first of Official Affiliated Supporters’ Club ahead of the FA Cup final showdown with Manchester City at Wembley on Sunday.
The Supporters’ Club are inviting Evertonians to send good luck messages to Willie Kirk and his team ahead of the game, with the messages being shared at a special ‘virtual send-off’ for the players and coaching staff. Initially set up in 2007, the group are now officially affiliated with Everton as well as The Football Supporters’ Association.
Affiliation will ensure members of the group have special opportunities on matchdays, once safe for supporters to return, as well as the opportunity to win prizes and experiences through exclusive competitions.

Julie Makin, Chairperson of the Everton Women Official Supporters’ Club said:
“We are delighted to become an affiliated Everton Supporters’ Club and we welcome any fans to join our group. The growth of women’s football in this country has been fantastic to see and Everton is more than playing its part in how exciting and international the WSL has become.
“As part of our affiliation we’re looking forward to working with the Club to help continue to build the fanbase for Everton Women and give our members opportunities that will bring them closer to the players on matchdays.”

“In these uncertain times we’ve not been able to support the team in person but we want the players representing Everton at Wembley to know that we are all right behind them. Cup finals are special occasions and any team, and its supporters, should be proud of reaching one.
“We’re hoping as many Evertonians as possible, young, old and in between, will send a message to the Everton Women players wishing them the best and encouraging them to bring the cup home.”
Simply, a great initiative by Everton Women to get fans more involved on the team and the women’s game; an example that the rest of WSL most prestigious teams should follow.
